Synopsis- Our favorite female knight, Sir Princess Petra is back on another mission! Her father, King Longstride, is determined to make Petra fail at a mission so she will not be a Princess Knight anymore, and just a Princess. This time, Petra has only two days to venture into the unexplored land of the of the Boogy Gobees, and capture the first car-panther she finds. If she does not find one in two days’ time, her knighthood will be relinquished!

What I Thought- I really enjoy this series! Ms. Robinson recaps the previous two books with a small chapter to sum up each book. Petra is a great main character who children can learn positive traits from – her parents the King and Queen want her to be a girly princess, but she wants to be a knight. In fact, through hard work and determination, she became a knight in Book 1. Yet her parent’s won’t except her for who she is, and Petra keeps persevering to be the best knight that she can be. Petra is also kind and willing to talk through problems. Ms. Robinson has black and white pictures put around the book, and they add a good amount to the book. I like the silliness of the world that Pen Pieyu resides in. This is a really nice book. It is a short story, good for reading on a rainy day. It’s a perfect balance of adventure and great message. Boys and girls will both love the book.
NOTE I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

I enjoyed Sir Princess Petra’s Mission in so many ways that I think a list is in order:

Originality: This book is simply a breath of fresh air; a completely new take on the princess story.
Lively Characters: Petra is a contemporary heroine stuck in a traditional role and a strong leading lady. Snarls the dragon and Bograt the bog witch are just two of the colorful supporting characters in the series.

Language: Lots of zany antics and silly wordplay will keep young readers highly entertained throughout the book.

Zero Predictability: Just when you think you may know what’s coming next, a wonderful twist will take you by surprise.

Topicality: With so many YA novels touting strong, young women as the protagonists, it’s great to see younger readers get a taste of girl power.

As a new reader of this series, I worried that starting with the third book would leave me a bit confused. But thanks to the extensive summaries of book one and two at the beginning of Sir Princess Petra’s Mission, I was able to jump straight into the story. That said, reading the third book only made me want to go back and read the first two books to understand all the details of this charming series.

I can see why The Pen Pieyu Adventure series continues to win awards, it’s a charming, original, entertaining series that will have broad appeal to early readers.

I received a free ecopy of this book for an honest review.

I had read the second book in the Pen Pieyu Adventures, Sir Princess Petra’s Talent, and enjoyed reading about Sir Princess Petra’s adventures so I was happy to read Sir Princess Petra’s Mission to see what other adventures she would find. At the beginning of the book, a synopsis of the first two books is given so even if you don’t read them, you’ll still know what is going on.

This time, her father sends her on a mission and if she fails, she’ll lose her knighthood. She sets out with her friends and, of course, they have a great adventure. Diane Mae Robinson does a great job describing the characters as well as the scenery. There are also colorful pictures but her descriptions will encourage children to use their imaginations.

Sir Princess Petra is a character that children can look up to. She does what she is ordered to do because she is a knight, but she won’t give up her honor. She knows what is right and she will stick to it even if it’s going to mean that she’ll lose her knighthood.

Sir Princess Petra’s Mission is a fun book for children to read or it would be a good book to read aloud. I think it and the other Pen Pieyu Adventures are stories children will enjoy reading over and over.

Parents and children alike will thank Diane Mae Robinson for this delightful tale of a tomboy princess who insists on being a Knight. Ms. Robinson’s wit and skilled art makes this an entertaining read, even for adults. While Petra’s father, the King, keeps rewriting the Royal Rule book in an effort to de-Knight her, Princess Petra rises to meet every challenge. In this book, she must capture an elusive car-panther in an unexplored forest. Do car-panthers even exist? Princess Petra, Snarls the dragon and Bograt the witch intend to find out. What if car-panthers are friendly? Would Petra capture a friend? She faces each problem with courage and arrives at a bold decision that will make every boy and girl proud to be a Princess Petra follower. PP is a great role model. Creative Writing Institute rates this book 5 stars! A must read for 7-10 year olds.

When her father, the king, decrees that Princess Petra must capture and deliver the fabled car-panther to the castle or renounce her knighthood, she sets about to undertake the task straight away. Not to be deterred by her father’s excessive rules for this latest mission, she outwits him with an alternate set of decrees also stamped with his royal seal of approval which she asserts cannot be overruled. After renegotiating the terms and ground-rules of the mission the princess is ready for her next quest. Driven by boundless confidence and a stubborn determination, the young princess is off.

Author Diane Mae Robinson continues to delight young readers with the ever-witty, always-inspired book series about a young princess who refuses to bow to conformity. Filled with countless catchy phrases and absurdly entertaining moments, Sir Princess Petra’s Mission is sure to be met with giggles and belly-laughs by young readers who will continue to fall in love with this enchanting series. Sir Princess Petra’s Mission is recommended for home and school libraries and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.

This is a tale, or rather, a fairy tale, about courage, dignity, honesty and self-esteem. This is also a story for children and parents who want to learn how better to grow up their children. I am discussing about Sir Princess Petra’s Mission , the third book by awarded Canadian author Diane Mae Robinson. This work is included in the series titled The Pen Pieyu Adventures. The plot of this new story keeps the same high levels of the previous ones, even though here it is enriched with quirky and amazing twists that make the fairy tale much more gripping and fun.
The background is very similar because the main character of the tale is always little princess Petra, who, unlike what her father wants, desires to become a brave royal knight instead of a girl princess. In order to deter his daughter to undertake the career as a knight of the Kingdom of Pen Pieyu, the king writes silly rules on the royal book that an aspiring knight must perform to gain just the title of royal knight. This time, the rule is really silly because she, alone, should capture a car-panther in the unventured land of the Boogy Gobees. Although the contrary opinion of her father, the princess does the mission together with her steed, Snarl the dragon, and her friend Bograt, the bog witch. From this stage, the fairy tale takes a very fun and compelling twist capable to conquer any kind of reader.
From a side, there is Snarl, the dragon that, fearing of being eaten by a car-panther, loses the skill to emit fire streams from the mouth, from another side, there are the new friends Petra finds in the ominous and mysterious land of the Boogy Gobees. But it is just from the weakness of the dragon that the author builds a very compelling story with several turns of events that have also an underlying meaning, namely: never lose courage. “ Believe in yourself” is the chant Petra sings to encourage her friend to spit streams of fire and Believe in yourself is the message that the author turns to those parents who fear to not be good parents.
At last, thanks to an amazing capacity to twist the plot, the author conveys another important message, namely that honour and courage are worth more than a mission to become a knight. Furthermore, some stages of the book are superbly hilarious such as, for instance, the startled king who slips out of the throne and the always silent queen who faints before saying a word. In the story, the real winner is, seemingly, the princess, but in reality they are the real ethical values of life.
Especially in this troubled modern world and thanks to literary works like this, children can learn about courage, honesty, dignity and true friendship. But, above all, on the basis of the plot, children can learn about the importance of equality between males and females, men and women and among all people. The princess, indeed, does not want only to be a princess, but also a girl with a brain and a talent and a more engaging role.
This book is, hence, a very educational work to fight imposed rules and roles, prejudices and useless competition. The plot is also seasoned with proper images that describe the several chapters and with a vibrant writing style that, once again, confirms Diane Mae Robinson as the best author of children’s fairy tales .

Sir Princess Petra's Mission: The Pen Pieyu Adventures, Book 3 is an epic fantasy and adventure novel for children written by Diane Mae Robinson and illustrated by Michael Bermundo. When Princess Petra is summoned to the royal throne room to appear before her father, the King, she quickly got the idea that the newly enlarged Royal Rule Book and the grin on her father's face meant she had trouble. Indeed, there was a new royal seal-of-approval mission that she must complete under pain of losing not only her knighthood, but that of Bograt, the bog witch who had been knighted after an earlier royal mission. She is, at least, able to wrest a legal concession from her father on the part of the order that mandates that she travel unaccompanied to the hitherto unexplored land of the Boogy Gobees by citing a previous sealed rule that a knight's steed and any other knights of the realm would accompany a questing knight on any mission. So, accompanied by Bograt and her dragon friend and steed, Snarls, Sir Petra sets out for unknown parts to capture and bring back a car-panther.

Diane Mae Robinson's epic fantasy and adventure tale for children, Sir Princess Petra's Mission, is the third book in this original and highly acclaimed series about a princess who'd really rather be a knight. However, readers new to the series will find enough background information in the accompanying synopses of Books One and Two to enable them to enjoy this book on its own. I'd be somewhat surprised, however, if those new readers don't find themselves planning to read the previous books after finishing this one. Sir Princess Petra is a brilliant role model for both girls and boys who may feel somewhat out of the mainstream with their goals, attitudes and ambitions, and she fulfills that function marvelously. Robinson's series is also a perfect introduction to epic fantasy for children that is never patronizing and always filled with the imagination, action and adventure that make epic fantasy work so well. Michael Bermundo's illustrations bring Petra and Snarls to life so well. I loved seeing the variety of expressions on both their faces in the illustrations presented throughout the book. Sir Princess Petra's Mission: The Pen Pieyu Adventures, Book 3 is most highly recommended.

Third book in this early chapter book series featuring the adventures of the indomitable Princess Petra, Snarls, her pet dragon and best friend, Bograt, the bog witch. For those unfamiliar with the first two books, Robinson begins with a synopsis of Petra's previous exploits to bring readers up to speed.

Book Three opens with the princess being summoned to the Great Hall by her king and father. He presents a royal decree demanding that his daughter/knight accomplish a royal mission before the next two moon downs. She must travel to the land of the Boogy Gobees and capture a car-panther. Immediately, the say Princess dismisses the decree as false and catches her father in a lie.

But Petra is not disrespectful or disloyal. She obeys both out of duty and because she does not wish to relinquish her knighthood. This princess is no ordinary stay at home princess, but a strong-willed, honest and fierce champion of what is right and true.

Petra travels with her fire-breathing dragon and best friend to Mesoggee Castle. Bograt will mysteriously disappear and Snarls will be caught in the swamp before they arrive at the elven land of King Hobnobby. When Petra finds a car-panther, she learns it is not a ferocious cat at all. That will lead to meeting a new friend and a heart-wrenching decision to test her loyalty. Will Petra succeed in her mission? She must make difficult decisions about family, friends, and her future.

This chapter book contains charming full page black and white illustrations with each chapter. The length is perfect for a beginning reader and the large print makes it easy to read for reluctant readers. Petra is funny, smart and endearing. Her character will particularly appeal to seven to ten year old readers, though the book is thoroughly entertaining for all ages. Highly recommend the entire series.

I did read the first two books in the series and enjoyed them thoroughly. But even if one doesn't have the chance to grab the rest of the series first, they'll still have no trouble getting into this story. The author was kind enough to put a quick summary of each of the other books in before this one begins. There's also a cute map in the beginning to help the reader get a feel for Sir Princess Petra's world.

This was a cute continuation of the series. Sir Princess Petra has proven in the last stories that she is a princess worthy of knighthood. Still, she's not off the hook yet. The story starts with cute, ridiculous humor and sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the book. I had to giggle at the King's proclamation, but at the same time, felt a bit of frustration for poor Petra that she would, once again, have to show that she has the right to be a knight.

Fun, whimsical characters with great personalities dabble through-out Petra's adventure. Around every corner, she runs into situations which made me smile while still maintaining enough tension to keep the plot thickening. Her sweetness and determination makes it impossible not to love her and hope she can again prove everyone wrong. Yep, this book calls for a girl power cheer-squad!

There are many warm messages wrapped up in this plot, ones perfect for middle graders. Patience, perseverance, understanding, determination, and self-assurance are mixed with the importance of friends and having compassion. But this is by no means a boring story where meanings poke out like daggers. The main focus in this story is simply lovely fun and humor. And what kid can resist that?

Summed up, this is a lovely story about a very spunky princess who is brave and tons of fun. I highly recommend it especially to girls ages 8 and up.

This is a beautiful book for children. One of the key things I look for in a book is what I stand to gain. I ask myself what the book is all about. Why should my child read this book? What does he or she stand to gain be reading it? I believe when we think about issues like this, it would guide us in purchasing the right book for our children.

If you followed this book from the first series, it is a book about a princess that desires to be more than who she is meant to be. She desired to be a knight, a position no one has ever been able to get to in the kingdom. What better way to inspire our kids than to have them read books that inspire them to be more than what the society has labeled them to be. I believe that our kids are made for more, they are meant to break several limitations in life in other to be who they are always meant to be. This book is the perfect read to inspire them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once said and I quote; Don’t go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path…and leave a trail” I believe that we want our children to be outliers, and become adults that would transform their generation for good. Our children will learn from the wonderful adventure of Princess Petra that they can create their own paths in life, and be who they want to be and not what the society has described them as. They can break free from every form of limitations in their lives. When they have faith in themselves, they would realize that the path to their place of destiny isn't as difficult as it may seem. Sometimes, everything isn't as it seems just has Princess Petra discovered in this wonderful journey. Get the book for your children, and you will be glad you did!

Enjoy the read.

Having obtained her knighthood at the age of nine, despite her father’s strenuous objections, Sir Princess Petra of the Kingdom of Pan Pieyu is still not out of the woods. The king is still busy writing silly rules designed to transform Petra into a girly-princess, a transformation she’s willing to do anything to avoid.
When he writes yet another inane rule, sending Petra on a mission to capture the first ever car-panther, a quest she must undertake alone, she has to use all her wits to get around the impossible task. She uses her knowledge of his byzantine rules to point out that, as a knight, she can choose her own steed—and, for this, she selects her dragon friend, Snarl. She is also accompanied by Bograt, the bog witch, who is also a knight—the only other knight in the hapless kingdom, thanks to Petra’s ingenuity—and, the three find themselves bogged down in a boggy land of puny knights and elves who turn out to be anything but enemies.
I received a free copy of Sir Princess Petra’s Mission by Diane Mae Robinson in exchange for my unbiased review. I found this an enchanting little book that is perfect reading for the young end of the young adult demographic. It’s filled with wry humor and titillating prose, sort of Dr. Seuss without the rhyme. In addition, it has lessons for young people, especially young girls, about the power of persistence, self-confidence, and loyalty that will seep into young readers’ minds without seeming like lessons.
If you want to get your young ones off to a good start with their reading—learning while they’re being entertained—I can’t think of a better book to start with.

This was my first venture into the magical kingdom of Pen Pieyu and, I can assure you, it won't be my last! Thank you, Diane Mae Robinson for creating this quirky, wonderful world and for providing the reader with a brief synopsis of the previous adventures of Sir Princess Petra and her entourage of engaging friends. This was a really fun read and in Sir Princess Petra, Ms. Robinson has created a marvelous role model for young girls.

In this adventure, Sir Princess Petra must again outwit her father who, in his desire to curtail her unprincess-like behavior, has rewritten the "Royal Rule Book" with the intention of stripping her of her knighthood and returning her to more feminine pursuits. Needless to say, this does not deter our brave Princess. Along with her best friends, Snarls the dragon, and Bograt, the bog witch, Petra sets off on a quest to capture a car-panther (a creature no one knows anything about).

I think my favorite encounter that the young Princess Knight has along the way is with Prince Norton Nastybun and the puny army from Kingdom Mesoggie. This episode had me in stitches throughout.

This is a truly engaging read for children and parents alike and I can tell you I await with great anticipation Ms. Robinson's next offering which will be entitled GRAMMAR FOR KIDS AND DRAGONS. If there's anyone who can make grammar fun, I think it will be Ms. Robinson!

This series has won many awards and they are well deserved. Enter the kingdom of Pen Pieyu and I know you will not be disappointed.

Now, being that this is a series, one might wonder if you have to read the preceding books to be "in the know". In this case, totally unnecessary (but still recommended for the sheer enjoyment of it all!) because the author has taken care of you with a brief overview of both preceding adventures at the beginning of this installment.

It was great to see the familiar faces of Petra, Bograt, Snarls, and both of the royal Longstride's again, though the latter is still confoundedly set in making Petra into the princess they want her to be instead of embracing her uniqueness to its full potential. I love how Petra is not afraid to be who she really is and calls her parents out on their shenanigans time and again. Next up, Snarls! Yes, that lovable dragon with a heart of gold is back and though he may not be able to spit fire on command but he's working on it; in the mean time, he's utilizing his other many talents. Bograt is...well, Bograt. Here and there, onion chomping and wave surfing, not much gets her down and the secrets she keeps are too many to number; good thing she's on our side, right?

All in all, a wonderful adventure through the Kingdom of Pen Pieyu with a spunky group that I'd call friends any day of the week. They each march to their own drummer, leaving an impression you won't soon forget, but that' part of their charm. It reminds us that we can do anything we want to do, be anything we want to be...so long as we choose our words carefully. ^-^ Recommended read for Children's Fiction fans of all ages.

There is a statement in this book that speaks of pure wisdom! Let me just give a little summary of what happened. The king had just made a new rule which was aimed at preventing his daughter from continuing his duty as the only princess Knight in the Kingdom. The new rule sealed by him was totally unfair to his daughter, but as the king, he could do as he wishes, even make new rules. The daughter (Petra) didn’t like what her father had done one bit, and to crown it all, the king insists on the new rule that she had to go alone on the adventure which he had just written in the royal rule book.
Instead of Petra to respond by shouting at her father and the likes, she decided to pick up the royal rule book which her father had written before and flipped to a page which states and I quote: “All knights may choose their own steed. All steeds will willingly accompany their knights.

All knights will stick together.” She won the battle over her father at that instance by her father’s own rule. This shows the importance of knowledge. In this age where kids are too tired to go to school or study, we need to be able to let them know the importance of studying. If Petra had not read the Royal rule book, she wouldn’t have known the way to win over an injustice. She was able to use the opportunity to enter the Kings library without restrictions wisely. Our children can learn such wonderful lessons from Petra, and I know that it would only be to their benefit and not their detriment. This is a way by which we can influence them the right way without stress. When they learn valuable lessons from their favorite characters, they would end up becoming the children we admire.

Sir Princess Petra’s Mission
By Diane Mae Robinson

Rating: 4 stars

Before readers start this third book in the series of Sir Princess Petra, the author shares the synopsis of the first two books. This serves to remind previous young readers, as well as quickly catching up new young readers, to make this book enjoyable for all of them.

It was in book one when Petra, on her ninth birthday, requested to become a knight, much to her father King Longstride’s dismay. In the second book, the king, in an attempt to get his daughter to act more like a princess, requires knights to attend Talent School.

Now, in book three, the king again tries to end Petra’s knighthood by giving her a mission that he believes she will fail. He sends her to the “unventured land of the Boogy Gobies” to capture “the first notorious-fabled car-panther she encounters.” If she fails in her mission, her knighthood, as well as that of Bograt, will be “null, none, and never was.”

Readers travel with Petra rooting for her to succeed in her mission. With twists and turns that threaten this success, Petra remains the kind, adventurous, loving princess as she puts her fears aside to do what she must do for the good of everyone she encounters.

An exceptional role model for children, she will make readers love her once more!

Diane Mae Robinson’s third entry in the Sir Princess Petra series of award-winning chapter books for children rises to the same lovely level of delightfully imaginative storytelling as its predecessors.

This time Sir Princess Petra, the king’s daughter who refuses to be confined to girlie pursuits, must confront yet another seemingly impossible challenge. The challenge was designed by her father with the express purpose of relieving her of her ungirlie knighthood. Because she outwitted him before, he has rewritten the royal rule book, which a knight of the realm must adhere to or lose the knighthood.

Sir Princess Petra is charged with “venturing into the unventured land” of the Boogy Gobees to capture the first car-panther she encounters and deliver it to the Kingdom. Armed with only a cake knife and onions, the Princess bravely sets off with her best friend, Snarls the dragon, and Bograt, the bog witch. The pursuit sends them desperately splish-splashing their way through bogs and swamps and a spine-tingling forest of tree soldiers.

The conundrum of apprehending and delivering a non-existent car-panther is eventually resolved. What saves the day, and Princess Petra’s knighthood, is her appeal to the best of human nature, unselfishness and faith that doing the right thing will lead to a good end, values that are abundant in the previous books.

Also abundant in all three books is fun, wonderful, silly fun. The book is delightful.

Sir Princess Petra has been given a mission. According to a new rule her father, the King, has written, she must make a journey to far away land and capture the fabled Car-Panther and bring one back to the kingdom in two days. Should she fail her knighthood and that of her fellow knight Sir Bograt Bog Witch will be forfeit.

Hilariousness ensues as Petra and Snarls journey through the lands of Mesoggie and to the mysterious Kingdom of Boogy Gobees in search of a creature that is rumored to eat dragons and can make the entire Puny Army pale in fear. Once again Petra and her friends find themselves on the funny side of misunderstandings, realizing that one can’t simply jump to conclusions with facts and because the truth of something can be quite different than the rumor. We meet more friends, including carpenters that don’t build with wood. Petra will have to make the decision to complete her mission or do the honorable thing. I do wish Petra would stop being so understanding about the interruptions to her missions, just once frilly dresses would be a suitable punishment.:)

Once again this a terrifically written story with lots of witty dialogue and fun characters. I am certain that kids and their parents will enjoy this book. It is nice to see a princess that can be a role model.

How do you respond when something totally unfair happens to you? How would we want our children to respond to instances whereby a school teacher that dislikes them decides to give them meaningless tests just because they want to see our kids fail, or several other things that may happen? The truth is that those with authority would try their best to exert these authorities for their own benefits, and it may be to our own detriment or to those of our children, and we need to be able to respond appropriately to those instances. The best way to fight injustice is by justice; unfairness, by fairness; hatred, with love.

How does Petra responds when her father, the king made a decree in the land aimed at demoralizing her and eventually leading her to give up her title as the only Princess knight? Instead of giving up, she embraced the challenge, and by so doing, brought about a dawn of peace, joy and happiness to her kingdom in the end. This book teaches that we should never give up even when people are unnecessarily unfair to us. Life isn't fair, and I believe our children would learn valuable lessons as these by reading this book. It is more than a storybook! it teaches invaluable lessons our children would benefit from.

During Sir Princess Petra’s journey, some knights tried to hard Petra’s friend who surprisingly was a giant whose name is Snarl. They had trapped Snarls and were just about to start shooting the giant. Sir Princess Petra was petrified about this behavior and commanded the people to stop. She defended her friends, even though other knights like herself were willing and ready to harm Snarls.

I believe our children need to understand that there are times when they would have to stand up for their friends. Several kids are bullied in Junior and Senior high schools, many are reference points of ridicule to the “big kids”. Our children may be tempted to join the crowd and not defend their friends who are hurt and at the lowest point in their lives. The writer was able to teach an invaluable lesson of how they need to stand up for those who are hurt. It’s not always easy to fight on the side of good, as it is easy to side with evil, but they need to understand that if they don’t stand up for what is right, they are just as bad as the evil people in this world. We all need to stand for something. What would we love our kids to stand for? Help those who need help? Or join the crowd who knows nothing other than to hurt others? The choice is ours.

Now, that is one funny story!
Sir Princess Petra is amazing. She is so nice and brave and good and trusting! My nephew can’t wait to hear me read more from the book!
To be honest I chose this book for him only because of the name. I was so intrigued how a princess can be a Sir and I am happy I bought it.
Every character in the book has it proper place. Every character has a reason for existence and a purpose. It helps me teach my little boy that no matter how different he feels sometimes this is not a bad thing. It helps him understand that girls can love balls and blue and still be girls and boys can love pink and drawing and still be boys and that there is nothing wrong with that. It definitely breaks the prejudices about gender differences and expectations. I love it for that. I love the fact that dragons and crocodiles can be good!
One of the things that makes this book so special for me is the way that it teaches children to believe in themselves and to help others:
“Petra forced her voice stronger, ”We’ll show them, Snarls. We’re not scared of a new adventure, right? And one just never knows what is real until one sees it for oneself.”
Thank you for writing this book!

My favorite quotation: ‘Okay, why has nobody explained to me before that these are notorious-fabled, dragon-eating car-panthers?’ Isn’t that adorable? This is a charming children’s book that empowers young girls and boys. The main character is bright, brave and determined to achieve knighthood. I loved reading this to my niece who felt really compelled by Petra and her adventures. The illustrations are as beautiful as the writing and really make this book appropriate and entertaining for children. It has all the things they love: food fights, unconventional names, a playful narrative and all-around fantastic setting. The content is age appropriate and not to dark or dense. The knight-to-be, Petra breaks barriers and clad in pots and pans (her armor) she braves the doomed forest to become a royal knight. Although being princess might be enough for some girls, Petra desires more than a given title. She wants to earn the title of ‘Knight.’ So delightful! I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. And, I am so pleased to have read it and to continue reading other entries in this series.

Sir Princess Petra's Mission (The Pen Pieyu Adventures) by Diane Mae Robinson is a light-hearted fantasy adventure tale for children. This is the third book in the Pen Pieyu Adventures series however the author provides a short informative synopsis of the first two books so that if you have not read them you can easily catch up.
In Sir Princess Petra's Mission her dad, the king sends her off on a mission which will test her and challenge her to make tough decisions.
The Pen Pieyu Adventures contains a kingdom of quirky characters and we revisit some of them in Petra’s Mission. I love that the book has lessons for young girls about self-confidence, friendships, and loyalty.
This chapter book contains charming full page black and white illustrations with each chapter.
I recommend all the books in the series - Sir Princess Petra and Sir Princess Petra's Talent.

I received an special copy from its publishers in exchange of an honest review. I really enjoyed this fast phased children's tale. As a loving mother I find Sir Princess Petra's Mission (The Pen Pieyu Adventures, book 3) by Diane Mae Robinson a highly interesting fun tale and I highly recommend this book for all the children. Time to time illustrative pictures are added so that the tales gets more interesting and understandable. The language used is simple and any one can easily understand it. I got to say that I have read only the third book and I have not read the first two books of this series. Yet I easily understood this third book whole alone after quickly going through the attached synopsis of first two books. I could quickly level up with the flow and it provided me the necessary background information in understanding this tale to its whole depth.

Knight princess Petra's mission along with Snarls-dragon is full of fun, heroism, enjoyment and excitement and my kid loves this composition.A must read for all the children.

Sir Princess Petra’s Mission is the third installment in the Pen Pieyu realm and although I have not read the first two it’s definitely a great edition. I loved the character of Petra and her determination to remain a knight and fulfill her knightly duties even with the disapproval of her parents, she is such a strong female character that you just can’t help but fall in love with. You also don’t need to have read the other books to be able to enjoy this book and there is a great synopsis at the start just to keep you up to date. The pictures throughout the book also really helped to capture my imagination and really who couldn’t love a book with a female knight and dragons! sir princessI think it was a shame that by the end of it she still did not really have her parents approval but all in all it’s a book I wished that had been out when I was a child, I think it would of certainly been a favorite.

I purchased this book from another website but wanted to make sure that everyone knew how great this book is. Sir Princess Petra's Mission is a book that can be enjoyed by both adult and child. The book Makes it great sharing experience for both the child and adult. I enjoyed how Diane Mae Robinson made sure the summarize the first two books at the beginning in case someone has not had a chance to read the first two books. I can not wait for the next one to come out. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great fairy tale.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. This book is really awesome! Sir Princess Petra's Mission is beautifully written and has some nice drawings in it. Such a great story of such a brave girl. Will definitely read to my children, when I have kids. I immediately consumed it in one go. Children who like books will love this novel. Brought me back to my childhood :) I think it is best for the younger ones to have this story read to them rather than reading it themselves, because some words might be a little hard to understand - but it is good practice!

I really enjoy this series. Sir Princess Petra is a great heroine and role model for kids. She's adventurous, kind-hearted, loyal, and believes anything can be accomplished if she puts her mind to it. The story also has several zany characters and one sarcastic dragon who is absolute fun. Great moral values interweave into the plot. The author has a wonderful story-telling skill. Highly recommended.
